Antoine Pinto, formally an art academy student is cited in 1980 in the « Besser’s Gourmet » guide (German equivalent to “Gault et Millau”) as one of the 100 best chefs in Central Europe. Also an interior Designer (Pinto and Co), he continuously adds up and combines with ease different forms of art: painting, sculpture, decoration, design but also the “art of taste and flavor”.
A true shaper of space, he is a prominent figure and a reference in the field of institutions and public spaces conception. His name is linked to the great restaurants of Belgium’s main cities but also in the UK, Brazil, Portugal, Lebanon: hotels, breweries, restaurants, bars, hospitals, boutiques, shops, showrooms, entertainment and conference halls, private housing, swimming pools and landscapes...
His respect for volumes, combination of contemporary and timeless styles, the use of noble materials and an eye for detail are the main ingredients which elevate his pieces.
On the designing side, Antoine Pinto lets his hand loose on the paper: lighting, carpets, dinning sets, outfits for the personnel and furniture… (for the most part edited by Durlet and Modular). Pinto went as far as creating his own brand of coffee called PONTI (anagram of his own name), a mixture of ‘pure Arabica’ grains from several locations and roasted by a master coffee roaster from Belgium and which will soon be available to taste in the first Ponti coffeeshop.
An advocate of ‘made in Belgium’, Belgian cuisine is as always put forward in his institutions, light, spiced up with national touches, good products selected with care amongst belgian artisans but you can also find on the card Japanese beef, Pata Negra filet, and a “poularde” (a hen) from Bresse…
Antoine Pinto…always on the look-out for more fantasy (dream?) and quality with one ambition: give and share some pleasure…
